Overall, this pair of UT Pegasus 38s opt for a more neutral appearance when compared to other University of Texas sneakers.Īdmittedly, I was bit skeptical when images of these first surfaced back in April. Other notable details include a burnt orange heel clip and a white outline of a Nike Swoosh, which appears on the lateral side of the upper. While school specific branding is minimal, the Longhorn logo and UT’s famous “Hook’em Horns” motto appear on the the heel and tongue respectively. These 38s primarily feature an all-grey upper paired with burnt orange accents. Now in it’s 8th iteration, Nike again tapped the legendary Air Pegasus line to be this year’s primary Texas-branded shoe. Whether due the Swoosh wanting the shoe to stay close to it’s historical namesake or (more than likely) supply chain issues, the Texas Pegasus 38s have released just a mere 3 days before the season opener.
But while this type of release has historically be referred to as “Week Zero”, never has a shoe in this series actually dropped the week before game 1.
